Building the base correctly for a hot tub installation is very important. This customer had thought long and hard about the right location ( not too far from the property to make it easy to get to, sunny and with a nice outlook but not overlooked). As they are on Wealden clay we needed to ensure that rain and any overspill from the spa pool could drain away easily, we made a raised bed using old railway sleepers to surround a concrete pad for immediately beneath the hot tub itself and back filled with shingle for a free-draining solution. Stepping stones add to the practicality and effect. Now tried and tested - this corner of a garden is all set for summer socialising!
